Description

Role:

To strengthen and grow member and organizational relationships through quality and timely personal contact. Responsible for maintenance and growth of current relationships and for the development of new relationships with prospective members within the community and field of membership. Attends events and utilizes social media in the community, representing the credit union to members and potential members.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains and deepens relationships with members, prospective members, city agencies, businesses, associations, and organizations, presenting information on available services and the credit union's purpose. Makes formal presentations at community groups, businesses, and enrollment meetings on behalf of the credit union. Attends community and business networking events both within and outside of business hours. Supports branches and lending by connecting the departments to outreach efforts including but not limited to creating a steady stream of leads connected to credit union goals.
  • Tracks and reports data related to member engagement, including reporting on activities in the community and/or with members, social media and online review sites. Assists in maintaining good presence and new content on social media outlets
  • Generates a steady stream of leads regarding membership, loans, and deposits. Tracks and reports on these leads.
  • Participates in the development of promotional strategies to meet goals; makes recommendations for improvement based on community feedback; supports and executes promotions.
  • Performs other job related duties required or assigned.

Qualifications

Bilingual preferred but not required

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Education:

(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills:

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to analyze new business opportunities, deal-closing instincts, research skills and creativity for developing community promotions are necessary.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills. Public speaking skills. Able to utilize online programs and software efficiently to manage social media and lead pipeline. Organization skills.
  • Computer literate, skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:

Physical/Environmental Characteristics: Essential duties are performed in a general office work environment and regularly require sitting and standing at a work station/desk while completing paperwork or using computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines and other business office machines and equipment,. Essential duties may also involve: occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, walking, crouching, stooping and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store supplies or various office equipment, as directed. Compliance to security and safety procedures, including use of Personal Protective Equipment, is required.

Work Environment:

Position requires the ability to travel to and from branches, partners, community events and other business-related locations. Must have, and maintain a driver's license in good standing and carry the appropriate automobile insurance. If the incumbent does not have access to a personal automobile or carry the appropriate license and insurance, other personal transportation must be utilized based on business need.
