Branch Manager II
Salary Range- $76,137- $95,658
Job Summary:
Responsible for leading all aspects of branch performance. Identifies, leverages, and cultivates strong community relationships that will lead to revenue growth. Acquires, builds, and directs a high performing team with dedication to building relationships and providing quality service to members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts, and solving problems within established policies and guidelines. Ensures the branch meets organizational, financial, productivity, operational, service, growth plans, and goals needed to support business plan objectives. Responsible for the cash management and safety of the branch and full building location. Actively works to train and develop staff to perform at a high level and meet assigned goals. Underwrites loans within guidelines and limits. Ensures the safety of organization by following all branch protocol. Responsible for business development in the areas surrounding the branch location, including developing new business in the form of memberships, deposits, and loans. Serve as a local community representative for Zing Credit Union.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Hires, trains, mentors, and motivates qualified employees.
* Oversees the day-to-day operations and workflow of the branch. Responsible for physical safety, cash management, and facilities maintenance of the branch and building location.
* Ensures employees achieve performance expectations. Conduct performance evaluations and actions that are timely and constructive. Conducts prompt and thorough coaching and counseling. Prepares required documentation and recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment, probation, or termination as appropriate.
* Conducts termination meetings and counseling sessions that are final in nature with the presence of HR or the AVP of Retail.
* Monitors branch and building location. To include but not limited to security, quality standards, reporting any facility related concerns, recommendations for changes/updates, builds relationships with any tenants for Zing leased spaces, keeps others apprised of important information related to the building.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Sets the individual goals for the staff within the department that are intended to meet and or exceed the department’s goals as related to the overall credit union business plan. Collaborates with other Branch and Department Managers to ensure the availability of the tools and/or training needed to assist in meeting these goals. Responsible for managing and meeting individual and department goals.
* Set goals and performance standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational goals and required compliance with internal policy and procedure and by local, state, and federal regulations.
* Identifies training needs and opportunities; develops and implements a plan for meeting those needs.
* Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective members demonstrating excellent member service and setting an example for other staff.
* Analyzes the market and community to locate areas for opportunity to foster positive relationships in the local community that will lead to branch growth. Identify and participate in activities to promote the credit union and build goodwill. Attends GTA (Golden Triangle) and other local community events, meetings, and other gatherings to develop strong relationships in the local community.
* Collaborates with peers and executives regarding advertising, marketing, and growth campaigns.
* Underwrites loans within lending authority and within the credit union guidelines. Manages loan queues for all direct staff in accordance with guidelines.
* Ensures that the branch follows internal controls, policies, and procedures, and operates within the requirements of state and federal laws and regulations.
* Tracks office activity, including but not limited to; number of transactions, volume, staff errors, staff and loan sales, business development activities, deposit growth, new accounts, and provides information to senior management.
* Schedules and coordinates in the planning and management for staffing coverage at your location, as well as assisting in coverage in other branch locations.
* Manages the security and safety of the branch, that relates to employees, members, and the overall branch/facility.
* Manages and recommends purchase of equipment and supplies required to conduct business.
* Participates in preparation and implementation of the strategic plan and budget for the branch that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget for the credit union.
* Participates in the planning and implementation of systems, processes and procedures as needed.
* Meets or exceeds all assigned branch goals.
* Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff; provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives.
* Supports and provides back up subordinate positions to ensure performance standards and member’s financial needs are met.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Proficient typing and 10 key skills and high aptitude and adaptability with programs utilized in the
banking industry. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel (including building complex formulas, tables, and charts). Working knowledge of MS Word. Strong aptitude to learn and adapt quickly to all systems, websites and programs as required of the position. Working knowledge of email systems, and tasks/calendar systems such as MS Outlook.
Certificates and Licenses

Education and Experience
* Associates degree and equivalent industry experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
May consider completion of 2 years of college plus the completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, and job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program or focused on the job training in a like role.
* Three to five years of experience as a branch manager or other similar position.
* One to three years consumer loan underwriting experience. Second mortgage underwriting in addition to consumer loans experience is preferred.
* Two to five years of experience with business development, that includes a proven track record of growth through those efforts.
Physical Requirements
Physical/Environmental Characteristics: Essential duties are performed in a general office work environment and regularly require prolonged sitting and standing at a workstation/desk while completing paperwork or using computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines and other business office machines and equipment. Essential duties may also involve occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, walking, crouching, stooping, and lifting up-to 30 pounds to stack, store supplies or office equipment, as directed. Compliance to security and safety procedures, including use of Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE), is required.
Performance Measurements
Meet goals and objectives as assigned in performance plan.
1. Contribute to, support, enforce and meet credit unions goals assigned to the individuals and branch.
2. To ensure that individual employee coaching sessions occur no less frequently than monthly and retain documentation of coaching in designated location. Document discussions with employees accordingly and assure that counseling actions, verbal, and written warnings to be completed on proper form, signed off on by employee and manager and submitted to HR in a timely, efficient manner to keep in employee's personnel file. Ensure assistant managers do the same.
3. To develop, motivate and coach staff to bring about exceptional service that also builds relationships with members.
4. To adhere to the Zing Safety policy and to follow proper ergonomic guidelines in performance of job duties.
5. To exhibit effective communication with management, staff, and peers both written and oral. Keep management informed regarding key issues affecting the branch and/or department. Hold effective department meetings monthly that focus on building relationships, quality assurance and support the overall business plan. Provide AVP of Retail with comprehensive monthly branch summary encompassing efforts to support the overall credit union goals.
6. Meet all individual training objectives as assigned and directed. For managers this includes self- research and ongoing training to enhance job knowledge. To support training, education, and staff development by ensuring you and your staff complete applicable compliance courses, product/service training/assessments and technical training as required by the position. All employees are required to pass with 85% or better and meet completion deadlines.
7. To follow defined policy and procedures of the credit union and make recommendations as appropriate to ensure accuracy and compliance with branch and operations procedures. Demonstrate proficient knowledge about credit union products and services, compliance as relates to branch operations, credit union policies and procedures, and trends within the industry. Ensure that staff understand and follow credit union guidelines, procedures, and compliance requirements accordingly. Self-educate and curate own knowledge on regulations to remain compliant.
8. To develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing, or procedures to ensure the branch and staff are operating at optimal efficiency levels.
9. To demonstrate adequate knowledge of membership demographics for the branch, and to grow memberships, deposits, and loans within the local branch community as defined by branch goals.
10.To focus on service culture by demonstrating and managing a high level of support for staff and members. Lead by example to ensure superior internal and external service is demonstrated consistently.
11.To ensure security standards are met within the branch/building to ensure the safety of staff, members, and the Credit Union. To stay appraised of any concerns with Zing lease tenants, build positive relationships with those tenants, and to inform senior management of any important information regarding those tenants and/or tenant spaces.
12. To participate in and complete all assigned training with a satisfactory score by the deadlines set for the position.
13. To demonstrate an understanding of and follows established policies, practices, and regulations, including those defined by the Safe Act, BSA, Red Flag, Safety and all other regulatory and other designated programs and regulations. The ability to observe and correct areas of non-compliance and assist the organization in meeting defined standards and requirements.
14. To underwrite loans according within lending limits and lending guidelines. To manage the loan queues of the department staff according to lending guidelines.
15. Ensure that Manager and/or Assistant Manage is present in the branch during business hours. If by exception this is not possible ensure that the AVP of Retail is informed, and appropriate communication standards are in place to ensure member service will not negatively affect the security and safety of the branch, staff, and members.
16. Adhere to credit union cash handling procedures, policies, and expectations. Responsible for the safety and soundness of the branch as it relates to cash management.
17. To meet and/or exceed all assigned branch goals which includes but is not limited to; membership growth, loan growth, deposit growth, checking account growth, error ratios, surveys, and reviews, outside community involvement, cash management.
18. To complete other duties as assigned.
